\"Poker\" <\/p>\n

Originally a game of chance, Poker evolved into a game of skill in the early 1830s. Today, Poker can be played at private homes and at famous casinos across the world.<\/p>\n

Each player receives seven cards. A player’s highest ranking hand wins the pot. During the deal, the dealer shuffles the cards. A player in the first-to-act position sits to the left of the big blind.<\/p>\n

A “showdown” is held when all players reveal their cards. The best hand wins the pot, and if there are ties, the second-best hand wins the pot.<\/p>\n

The first player to act is responsible for making the first bet. In most games, a player who is not the first to act is the last to make a bet.<\/p>\n

If the player in the first-to-act position folds, he does not participate in the hand. However, he can still be in contention for the pot.<\/p>\n

The high card is used to break ties. A high card breaks ties when two or more players have the same type of hand. A high card is also used to break ties when two or more players have the exact same card.<\/p>\n

A player can also “bluff” other players. In poker, a player can “bluff” by stating a bet that is larger than the previous bet. This is called “sandbagging” and is allowed unless practice is prohibited.<\/p>\n
