The winner of the pot takes home all of the money.<\/p>\n<h4>Poker rules<\/h4>\n<p>The game begins with the dealer placing a pack of cards faceup on the table. Each player is dealt one card, and the betting interval begins with the first player to the left of the dealer making a bet.<\/p>\n<p>Each betting interval is interrupted by a showdown in which each hand is shown to all players. During the betting round, the players take turns betting and revealing their hands, clockwise from the dealer.<\/p>\n<p>After the first betting interval, each player is required to make a contribution to the pot, called an ante. The ante is usually $1 or some other minimum amount, and may be raised if the previous bettor did not match the bet.<\/p>\n<p>During each betting interval, a player can call the previous bettor\u2019s bet, raise the previous bettor\u2019s bet, or fold. The action continues in this manner until all players have either called or folded.<\/p>\n<p>Playing position is extremely important. When it\u2019s your turn to act, you have more information than your opponents and can make much better decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t complain about bad beats \u2014 It can ruin the mood at the table.
